ANDROID DEVICE REGISTRATION

Test the device first, then register it to your account.

Pitboard is designed for a wide range of Android tablets, phones and automotive displays. The Compatibility Test identifies what each device can actually do before Studio enables hardware-dependent features.

DISPLAY

Screen profile

Resolution, density, refresh rate, orientation and multitouch capability are recorded so Studio can start from the correct target display.

SENSORS

Motion capability

Accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, rotation vector, gravity, linear acceleration and barometer support are detected. Live sampling measures actual accelerometer and gyroscope delivery rates.

GPS

Location capability

The test detects GPS hardware/provider availability and location permission. Live GPS sampling remains in safe mode while vendor-specific Android location behaviour is being validated.

CONNECTIVITY

External hardware readiness

Bluetooth Classic, Bluetooth LE and USB Host support are recorded so Pitboard knows which OBD, sensor and accessory connection paths are possible.

DEVICE CAPABILITY PROFILE

Studio will use the registered device profile automatically.

When the registration backend is connected, a dashboard will target a registered device. Unsupported widgets stay visible but are grayed out with a reason. Limited capabilities can show warnings instead of being blocked outright.

REGISTRATION STATUS

Compatibility reports can now be registered to your account.

After the Compatibility Test finishes, copy the report and paste it on the Compatibility Test page. Pitboard Studio will show the detected device and ask Is this the device you want to register? Nothing is attached to your account until you choose Yes.
